Charles Jacob CBE

I received the news last night that one of the founders of ethical investment in the UK, Charles Jacob, passed away on the evening of 1 June, aged  94.

Charles will be remembered for his passion for and commitment to ethical investment – and as the originator of the ‘Stewardship’ name.

Charles served on the original Friends Provident Stewardship Committee of Reference,  when the funds were launched in 1984.

Charles was also one of the earliest members of UKSIF, a former board member and remained an actively involved Patron until recently.

His family will be sending me details of his funeral once they are finalised, so please contact me if you wish to be kept informed.
