The landscape of sustainable investing has changed dramatically in recent years. No longer a niche part of the investment market, it is now mainstream, with assets invested in Sustainable funds increasing ten-fold over the last decade.
The dramatic rise in sustainable investment has been driven largely by two main reasons; increased public interest in sustainability issues but also the significant change in regulation both globally and in the UK. However, there is still confusion and skepticism around how Sustainable funds are managed and just how sustainable they actually are.
In this webinar Graham Finlay of Columbia Threadneedle Investments will be joined by Julia Dreblow of SRI Services and Alexander McGregor, Head of Policy at SimplyBiz. They will explore the key considerations around the developments of the sustainable investment marketplace, with a focus on the recent FCA’s Anti-Greenwashing rule and the forthcoming Sustainable Disclosure Requirements (SDR) and investment labels. Investigating what the implications are for both Financial Advisers and Clients.
Learning outcomes :
• Consider how the market for Sustainable Investment has changed through both client demand and UK / international regulation
• Summarise key regulatory changes, such as SDR and discuss how this is impacting the market for Sustainable Investment in the UK Advice Sector
• Identify the interconnection between a client’s sustainable preferences and Consumer Duty
