UKSIF appoints new Chief Executive

UKSIF APPOINTS NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE

Senior investment executive Simon Howard

to take the helm at responsible investment trade association

London, 15 April 2013 –The UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIF) has appointed Simon Howard, a former Group Chief Investment Officer with over twenty years of experience in investment management, as its new Chief Executive. He will take over on 7 May at the trade association for responsible investment and other financial services that advance sustainable development.

During a City career that started in 1990, Simon Howard has been Group Chief Investment Officer at Liverpool Victoria, Head of Investments at Friends Provident and Managing Director at 3i Asset Management. In addition, he has cutting edge expertise in sustainable finance from his most recent role as Head of Sustainable Financial Markets at the charity Forum for the Future.

UKSIF Chair Martin Clarke said: “It is a testament to the importance of responsible investment today and to UKSIF’s role in the field that we have been able to attract an executive of Simon’s calibre as its next Chief Executive.”

Simon Howard said “UKSIF is recognised globally as a leading champion for sustainable investment and finance. I am delighted to join this highly regarded association and look forward to working with UKSIF’s board and members to build on its track record.”

Howard will replace Penny Shepherd who announced in late 2012 that she would be stepping down after eight years. She will act as an adviser during the transition before leaving the organisation at end June.
